A long time promised excursion and a natural extension to a walk we did on our last visit. We take the path down the hill between several houses, this soon becomes rather pleasant as we turn left onto park walk, a path that leads to Bratton. The path is bordered on both sides by a thin strip of grass with trees and flower beds.
We stop for coffee using a tree stump for a seat, having climbed up the side of the Ball via a grassy farm lane from Bratton Court. After admiring the views we take the zig zag path up to the top and branch right to take the terrace path back to Higher Town and Minehead.
Lunch is had on a bench near the reservoir, half way along the terrace. We are surprised by a visit of two Red Deer and a calf before descending down to the Church of St Michaels.
In the town we sit in the park to finish off the coffee before going back to the camp site .
